DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a BBQ fundraiser for NH State Representative Candidates Francesca Diggs and Kevin Maes! \nAs we’ve seen from the horrific policy of ripping children from their parents at the border\, we are in a battle for the soul of our country\, and we’re lucky to have a chance to meet with one of the leaders in that battle: Senator Jeff Merkley\, at this event. \nSenator Merkley has led the effort to change the child separation policy\, first drawing national attention to the problem when he had the police called on him when he tried to visit a child detention facility in Brownsville\, Texas in early June.  In fact\, he has been in the middle of many battles for opportunity and justice – passing legislation to end predatory mortgages and stop the big bank gambles that wrecked the economy\, outlining a bold vision of moving America past fossil fuels\, writing legislation to end LGBT discrimination\, and filibustering the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to a stolen Supreme Court for over 15 hours\, to name a few. \nHe’ll be coming to the Plymouth Area to talk about the stakes in the 2018 election and how we can build a blue wave to put some checks and balances on this administration and begin transforming our state and our country to work for “We the People” and a vision of equality and fairness\, not for the privileged and powerful. \nSenator Merkley has spent his life building teams to take on tough fights.  He sees grassroots organizing as the key to the tough fights in front of us and looks forward to hearing from all of us as well as sharing his views about how we build the grassroots team to win!

DESCRIPTION:This is an urgent request for help! We have learned that Janet Doner has put her house in Campton on the market\, and with it the lovely barn that Janet and her late husband Jules so generously opened up to PAD to store our campaign and candidate signs.  We will hold a Cleanout Event to sort and remove the signs and frames from her barn.  Signs for current candidates will be saved\, along with any “H” frames that can be re-used.  Everything else will go to the Plymouth recycling center. We need two pickup trucks to help with the work.  Volunteers should bring gloves\, flashlights and filter masks because of the dust. The legitimacy of our democracy is more important than the interests of any party\, or any President. So\, we will rise together to call for a fair and impartial investigation\, for the pursuit of truth\, and for the restoration of faith in our electoral system and the Office of the Presidency. \nAcross the country\, peaceful demonstrations will be arranged on Saturday\, June 3rd. Our goals are simple: \n\nA special prosecutor must be named\, an independent commission must be established\, and Congressional investigations should be properly resourced and pursued free of partisan interests;\nAs much information should be made available to the public as possible\, and as soon as possible;\nCongress should require Donald Trump to release his tax returns to clarify his business interests and obligations to any foreign entity;\nIf crimes were committed or if collusion is discovered\, it must be prosecuted.\n\nWe need your help.\nWe are asking on cities and communities around the country to organize. \nWe are looking for volunteers to help secure permits\, find speakers\, and take care of the logistics to make this peaceful assembly matter. \nEmail marchfortruth@gmail.com for more
