Dana Hilliard

Experience: Dana Hilliard is a public-school administrator and Mayor of the City of Somersworth. He has served five terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, two terms on the Somersworth City Council, and is currently serving his fifth term as the Hilltop City’s Mayor. He is New Hampshire’s first openly gay Mayor. Dana is currently in his 22nd year as an educator for SAU 56, serving as its Director of School District operations, where he and the city of Somersworth have won numerous awards for high quality education.
On the issues:
Recognizing that quality public education is the backbone of strong communities, if elected to the Council, Dana will make sure our public schools get the support they deserve. He also aims to work with our Federal Delegation to ensure that our tax dollars support New Hampshire cities, towns, and workers – not unaccountable corporations. Dana will also work to preserve the right to abortion and ensure access to reproductive care for all.
